such is probably the sentiment of my beloved abode since the renovation work started about a month ago.
the house had been torn apart - well, that's a tad bit overreacting, but for lack of a better term at the moment - stripped off of its color, splattered by mud, covered by dust, the works!
the thing about this reconstruction is that it's just frustrating not being able to eat properly, watch tv, find the stuff that i need for the day and having to maneuver through piles and piles of boxes. arrgh!!!
well, that was just a phase that me and my family had to go through to be able to give our house the necessary facelift that it deserved after 17(?) long years.
so far, construction's done for the ground floor. the walls have been painted white, the bar has been given a new, granite countertop and the washroom has undergone a total makeover - gone are the totally olats , circa-1970 tiles and rusty faucets, hello to a spanking, beachy-themed floor and wall tiles matched by updated and totally handsome fixtures and add-ons. even the front door was not spared - the plain and cream colored door was replaced with an antique-feeling one, complete with all the carvings and the pang-elitistang door handle, knob and lock.
but this is not yet the time to be merry because phase two (2nd floor) is in the heat of the moment. just hope this would be done soon.
